(Worthy News) – The US Supreme voted 5-4 to prohibit New York State from re-imposing COVID-19 restrictions on religious gatherings, Politico reports. The court’s emergency ruling issued late on Wednesday night represents a significant shift away from the decisions it made in May and July, when it upheld restrictions on churches in California and Nevada.
Wednesday night’s decision was issued in an unsigned ruling which indicates that Amy Coney Barrett, the latest conservative appointee to take a seat on the bench, sided with the majority. Chief Justice John Roberts sided with the remaining three Democratic-appointees in dissenting, Politico reports.

Third-quarter GDP unchanged at 33.1% annual rate as pandemic weighs on future growth

(Worthy News) – The Commerce Department on Wednesday reported that third-quarter GDP growth was unchanged at 33.1%, which confirms the record-breaking expansion that occurred last quarter.
Still, last month's growth is not enough to return the economy to pre-pandemic health. The economy contracted at a record-breaking 31.4% annual rate in the second quarter, and it is still 3.5% smaller than it was at the end of 2019.
Wednesday's report comes as the spike in coronavirus infections is expected to weigh on future economic growth. [ Source: Washington Examiner (Read More…) ]

(Worthy News) – The U.S president of an influential Christian broadcaster warned Wednesday that American churches could face similar persecution as denominations in Algeria.
Rex Rogers, whose SAT-7 television network broadcasts for the Middle East and North Africa, noted that churches in the United States face severe COVID-19 restrictions on worship and gatherings.
Rogers leads SAT-7 USA, the American promotion and fundraising arm of SAT-7. Across the U.S., there have been new restrictions, including limiting the size of religious gatherings, he explained. They also outlaw choirs, prohibit congregational singing and dictate stringent health protocols.

(Worthy News) – The Israel Defense Forces have in recent weeks been instructed to prepare for the possibility that the U.S. will conduct a military strike against Iran before President Trump leaves office, senior Israeli officials tell me.
The Israeli government instructed the IDF to undertake the preparations not because of any intelligence or assessment that Trump will order such a strike, but because senior Israeli officials anticipate “a very sensitive period” ahead of Biden's inauguration on Jan. 20.
The IDF's preparedness measures relate to possible Iranian retaliation against Israel directly or through Iranian proxies in Syria, Gaza and Lebanon, the Israeli officials said. [ Source (Read More…) ]

(Worthy News) – The Trump legal team has a “mountain” of evidence showing voting fraud that the public has yet to see and could tilt the election away from President-elect Joe Biden, according to Rudy Giuliani.
Reveling in what he billed a successful hearing in Pennsylvania on Wednesday, the personal lawyer to President Trump told Fox Business host Lou Dobbs the Republican state senators in attendance “seemed to be very impressed with the evidence” the legal team presented.
The team has faced several setbacks and losses across multiple key battleground states in the three weeks since the election, but Giuliani stressed this was the group's first real opportunity to present its evidence, claiming the media and judges are “suppressing it.” [ Source: Washington Exami..

(Worthy News) – The Trump administration plans to tighten sanctions on Tehran during its final months in power, the top US envoy on Iran said on Wednesday, as he urged President-elect Joe Biden to use the leverage to press for a deal that reduces the regional and nuclear threats posed by the Islamic Republic.
US Special Envoy for Iran Elliott Abrams, praising Biden's national security adviser and nominee for secretary of state as “terrific people,” cautioned against repeating what he saw as former US President Barack Obama's mistakes in negotiating the 2015 nuclear deal. (Worthy News) – Authorities in Utah have discovered an unexplained metal monolith installed in the ground in a remote red rock area of the state, The Hill reports. The Utah Department of Public Safety (UDPS) stated Monday that the discovery was made during a count of bighorn sheep in a southeastern part of the state on November 18.
Crew members from the UDPS Aero Bureau were working with the Utah Division of Wildlife Resources when an “unusual object” was seen from the air. It was found to be a metal monolith, estimated to be some 10 to 12 feet high. The object offers no explanation as to who installed it or why they did, The Hill said.
In their statement Monday, Utah authorities said they would not reveal the location of the object because “it is in a very remote area and if individuals were to attempt to vis..
